Three new 100-Minute Scriptures
Canterbury-based publisher, The 100-Minute Press, follows up their success with The 100-Minute Bible by publishing parallel titles of Islamic, Jewish and Buddhist scriptures. These are follow the same concept by abridging the actual scriptures of these world religions to a length that most people will be able to read in 100 minutes.
The author of The 100-Minute Torah is Ramsgate-based Rabbi, Cliff Cohen. He recounts the stories of the Jews during Biblical times but also presents some guidance from the wider Jewish Scriptures which are ever-increasing and continually being updated.
Based at the West London Buddhist Centre the author of The 100-Minute Buddha, Jinananda, is an accomplished writer on Buddhism and meditation. His book recounts the story of the life and ministry of the Buddha in north-eastern India. The Buddha's teachings and guidance is the basis for every Buddhist irrespective of which of the several strands of Buddhism they follow.
Rashid Siddiqui is the Vice-Chair of the well-renowned Islamic Foundation in Leicester and is the author of 100-Minutes with the Qur'an. He retells the stories of Biblical times, including the life of Jesus Christ, but majors on God's new revelations to Mohammed in the 7th century AD which form the core beliefs of Islam. Its format and easy-to-read style make the Qur'an accessible to non-Muslims.

The London Interfaith Centre in Queens Park, London, is the venue for the launch on November 2nd at which all the authors will present their publications.

The 100-Minute Bible was published in September 2005 and has now sold over 150,000 English language copies and a further 100,000 in the 13 languages into which it has been translated. It was short-listed in the Innovation category of the Independent Publishers Guild Awards in 2006.
The first overseas publisher was Icelandic and they have sold more copies per head of population than any other country. Sweden, Norway and Finland follow on closely behind.
The primary purpose of 100-Minute abridgements is to enable readers to become familiar with some of the concepts and guidance of these world religions. It is the publisher's aspiration to publish similar abridgements of the other world religions.
